Pangea's Pizza

Approximately 345 million years ago, before dinosaurs roamed, before birds and before mammals, geological forces were driving the earth's three major landmasses together to form the single supercontinent known as Pangea – a Greek word meaning "all lands". Over the eons, Pangea broke apart and drifted- leaving the seven culturally distinct individual continents of today. Now you can experience the culinary delights of "all lands" at Pangea Pizza, a new concept in gourmet pizzerias serving up unique flavors from all corners of the globe.

Our restaurant opened its doors in June of 2006 and was an immediate hit in downtown Traverse City. Hungry shoppers, walkers, and business people can now dine in, take out or walk up to the window for a whole pizza or just a slice. We offer a wide variety of specialty pizzas, salads, sandwiches, soups and appetizers all made with the freshest ingredients and with flavors of the seven continents in mind. We also have a liquor license so that our guests can enjoy a nice cold beer or a fine glass of wine pared with their gourmet pizza.

In planning Pangea's, we considered several different concepts, a sandwich shop, a '50s diner, and a gourmet restaurant before finally deciding that a new type of pizzeria would best create the unique and friendly eatery we were looking for. We wanted a fun and interesting atmosphere where everyone can enjoy delicious food and experience the tastes of different lands. Pangeas is a family owned and operated business. When we are not in the restaurant, you are likely to see us in the area walking our two golden retrievers.

Pangea's Pizza is different and delicious. The inviting walk up window and snack bar is perfect if you are shopping, walking or working downtown and need a quick meal or snack. On nice days in the spring, summer or fall you can even enjoy your meal outside at one of the restaurants sidewalk café tables. If you dine inside you’ll most likely be greeted by one of us. We take great pride and pleasure in making lasting customers and friends with everyone who comes in.
