Founded in 2006, Pangea's Pizza is a staple in Downtown Traverse City. Some researchers believe that in the past there was a super continent called Pangea. If one looks at the land masses on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, one may notice that it appears as if the continents fit together like a giant puzzle at one time.

Read about this on Trip Advisor so while visiting TC we decided to stop in. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by someone in the kitchen to let us know someone would be right with us to seat us. (Very friendly.) We were seated and served drinks the restaurant was not busy at all but began getting busy once we sat there for a few minutes- maybe 5pm on a Thursday evening. We ordered the BLT pizza deep dish style and it was very, very good! Probably one of the best pizza's we've ever had, and we have Cascarelli's in Homer to compare it to so that's saying a lot! (We could each only eat 2 pieces and we were famished by the way because it was so huge!)The restaurant was clean and our server was very polite. No complaints at all and we will definitely be returning to this restaurant for their wonderful pizza pies.
Had family in and wanted to try a Front Street pizza location and Pangea's got the vote. Stopped in on a Sunday and had great service and food. Had breadsticks, pepperoni and deluxe versions of pizza which were all enjoyable with good quality ingredients and dough. Great beer selection.
Asked the server how one would manage to snag a carryout pizza during the busy summer months and they said they could meet you at the car in the back lot if paid in advance, so I may keep this in mind when we want to have a pizza different from our mainstay carry out away from downtown. The server also mentioned that the restaurant had been recently purchased and may have some upcoming remodeling and updates coming in the near future.
This place is rather small and comfortable. They serve pizza and no pasta dishes. Pizza was very good and our service was very good. My wife and I had a couple of drinks (alcohol) and each a small pizza pie. She ordered a gluten free and was very good and I had an individual pie. Very sufficient and filling. A good place to keep going back.
